A man told his wife she and their teen daughter would have to move out of their home if they refused to accept his illegitimate child living with them.

The 35-year-old Reddit user said he had kept the existence of his son a secret from his wife after he cheated on her while they were married.

The man said she and their 14-year-old daughter have been "livid" about him moving his son, 12, into their home after his mom died – without initially telling them he was his father.

Turning to the Reddit AmITheA****** (AITA) community to explain his situation, user Ok-Proof-6414 wrote: "I kept it as a secret from them, and I paid child support to her mother.

"I was meeting absolutely all of their expenses.

"She herself had a good job anyway. She passed away recently. I did not want my son to suffer like that, without any parents.

"I went through all the proper procedures to get custody. I made him live in my house.

"They went absolutely ballistic when they learned about him.

"But I did not back down, and they eventually had to be fine with the decision."

He went as far as telling his wife and daughter to leave the house if they couldn't accept the boy: "[She] got mad and asked me whether I value 'someone who was born out of a w****', and I lost my temper.

"I got up and asked them to 'get the f*** out of my house'. They're not talking to me now."

After an initial round of reactions, the man clarified he wanted to have a relationship with his daughter but not by sacrificing his bond with his son – insisting the property was his and he could decide who should live in it.

But rather than whatever sympathy he might have been looking for, the Reddit user was absolutely pilloried for his behavior.

User AffectionateWheel386 commented: "How you can even be so angry with her is beyond me. I’m sure that you are affair partner had family and people this boy could live with.

"You, were sabotaging your marriage, and your whole life for a child who was created out of wedlock. I would first look for other family members that can take him in and if you have to find an apartment for him and you.

"And divorce your wife so she can move on from this and try to recover."

User offbrandbarbie said: "This situation your family is in is your fault you cheated on your wife.

"You kept it a secret and now you sprung a secret like this on them with no warning and now they have to live with a stranger and treat him like a son/brother with 0 adjustment time."

And another user added: "…You’re kidding right? You actually typed out this story where you cheated on your wife, got another woman pregnant, lied about it for over a decade, then out of the blue told your wife and daughter that your affair baby was moving in and if they didn’t like it they could leave.

"You wrote ALL that out and you think there's some universe where you aren’t in the wrong here…?"
