Kim Kardashian has been advised to say sorry to Taylor Swift, but a friend suggests she should do it privately.

Taylor recently confessed that the reality star "took her down psychologically" during her well-known feud with Kim and her ex-husband Kanye West.

This was revealed in a detailed new interview where she was named TIME Magazine's Person of the Year.

The drama started in 2009 and escalated in 2016 when Kanye released his controversial song Famous.

The lyrics upset Taylor due to their explicit nature. After the song's release, Taylor's representative stated: “Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single Famous on her Twitter account.

“She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, 'I made that b***h famous.'"

Kim then released a video of a call between Taylor and Kanye that seemed to suggest the Shake It Off chart-topper was okay with the song.

However, it later emerged that the video had been edited to make it look like Taylor gave her consent.

Taylor has now opened up about the incident, telling TIME: “That took me down psychologically to a place I've never been before. I moved to a foreign country. I didn't leave a rental house for a year.”

She continued: “I was afraid to get on phone calls. I pushed away most people in my life because I didn't trust anyone anymore. I went down really, really hard.”

Now, a close friend of Kim's has urged the Skims founder to reconcile with Taylor.

The friend, Kid Capri, told TMZ: “[If I were Taylor] I would want an apology but I wouldn't want an apology on social media. I wouldn't take it as genuine.

“Those two women need to get on the phone, conversate and move on,” he said. (sic)

He added: “It started with Kanye, so I think he will take some responsibility for it. It shouldn't be something that's sorted in public. There's a way to carry the situation, not everyone needs to be in their business.”
