Kate Middleton and have just celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary.

After their spectacular wedding, they spent the night at Buckingham Palace before finally heading off on their honeymoon 10 days later.

Their destination was a remote island to recharge their batteries after their wedding which was watched by around 162 million people.

They travelled by private jet to the secluded, luxurious private North Island in the Seychelles.  Only four of the 115 islands are privately owned and North Island is one of them.

Villas on North Island cost around $7,000 a a night and there are just 11 dotted across the whole island.

It is the ultimate, barefoot chic honeymoon destination.  It has all the paradise pre-requisites of powdery white sands and turquoise waters.

George and Amal Clooney followed in their footsteps, spending their honeymoon there in 2014.

Most honeymooners, as the Prince and Princess probably did, opt for Villa 11, with its own pool and direct beach access.

It stretches over 8,000ft and it has its own circular-flow swimming pool and deck.

It also has a cinema lounge and multiple levels leading down to the boulders on the sand. Despite having a private chef on hand to create whatever Royal tastes were, the resort does have five-star restaurants on site; from romantic candlelit dining on the sand to pizzas and salads on the beach.

Other villas face the beach and are beautifully designed with open living areas where sunken sofas sit under thatched roofs.

Takamaka trees were used in room dividers and screens of roped coral are clever and beautiful room dividers.

Many of the features were handcrafted by Seychellois and African craftsmen from wood, local stone and glass. Each comes with a plunge pool and verandah. Bedrooms are staggeringly romantic with four-poster beds swathed in white curtains, trunks and day beds with uninterrupted views over the immaculate beach.

Being as sporty as the Princess and Prince are, they would have loved the array of activities on offer.  From scuba diving and snorkelling, to sea kayaking and cycling.

When they wanted to relax they probably enjoyed a massage or two in the spa facilities or just headed to a sunlounger on the beach. What's not to like about that?
