An angry kangaroo decided to pick a fight with its own reflection in a terrifying moment which saw the animal clawing into someone's house.

In a viral video, which has since amassed over 8 million views and 180,000 likes, showcases the rather unexpected encounter with one of Australia's most iconic animals.

The video begins inside a picturesque Australian home, its large window offering a serene view of the country's natural beauty.

But a text overlay on the video gives away the crazy scenario about to occur.

The text read: "This is not a squirrel! Everyday life of an Australian."

A kangaroo, much larger and more imposing than one might expect, stands right outside the window.

The marsupial, with its intimidating demeanor, takes center stage as it forcefully scratches its massive claws against the window, much to the homeowner's dismay. In true Australian fashion, the resident tries to shoo the kangaroo away, shouting, "Oi!" and banging on the window. However, the kangaroo remains undeterred, standing tall and strong, unfazed by the confrontation.

In an unexpected twist, the kangaroo even attempts a body slam against the window, seemingly challenging the defiant homeowner. The video ends on a cliffhanger, leaving viewers in suspense about how the confrontation ultimately concluded.

The internet was quick to react to this bizarre kangaroo encounter, with comments flooding the video's comment section. One user humorously remarked: "This honestly looks like the makings of a horror movie. When the hell did Kangaroos start looking like MMA fighters wearing Freddy Krueger’s gloves???"

Others speculated about the kangaroo's behavior, with one user writing: "He probably saw his reflection and thought it was another kangaroo."

Kangaroos, while known for their remarkable strength and agility, are not typically aggressive towards humans. However, like any wild animal, kangaroos can become defensive if they feel threatened or cornered.

According to the local government of the city of Whittlesea in Australia when spotting a kangaroo in the wild, there are many things one can do to remain safe.

To safely interact with kangaroos, avoid approaching them directly, staring at them, or making threatening gestures. Stay away from kangaroos engaged in courtship, fighting, or territorial displays. Don't go near growling or clucking kangaroos, move between a female and her joey, or allow your dog to approach them, as kangaroos may defend themselves vigorously, posing a risk to you.
