Joe Biden saw his approval drop by 11 percentage points in the past month, the biggest drop since his inauguration.

Joe Biden is facing a massive headache as members of his own party appear to have turned their back on him in the past 30 days.

A Gallup poll released on Thursday showed Biden shed more than ten percentage points off his approval rating in the worst assessment of his record since he took office.

While still hovering at 75 percent approval among Democrats, the new survey marked a significant double-digit drop since September's 86 percent.

Overall approval also spelled bad news for the US president after the polling company reported a five-point decline from last month's 41 percent.

The President recorded a 37 percent overall approval rating only once before in April this year.

The survey was carried out between October 2 and October 23 at a time when Biden has been facing increasing pressure over his response to Israel's ongoing war with Hamas.

He was quick to express his support to Israel in its decision to immediately retaliate against the militant group for the killing of 1,400 Israeli civilians on October 7.

But public opinion has been increasingly divided as Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) continue to carry out relentless air raids on Gaza.

An earlier poll from earlier this year recorded growing support for Palestinians among Democrats.

Gallup suggested that Biden's decision to pledge "rock solid and unwavering" backing to Israel could have affected how members of the party view him.

But they noted that while the survey is "not designed to allow for statistically reliable estimates for any subset of the three-week polling period, the daily results strongly suggest that Democrats' approval of Biden fell sharply in the aftermath of the October 7 attacks by Hamas and Biden's promise of full support for Israel on the same day".

The poll comes as Muslim and Jewish civil rights groups say they’ve seen large increases in reports of harassment, bias and sometimes physical assaults against members of their communities since the October Hamas attacks.

The Anti-Defamation League and the Council on American-Islamic Relations saw increases in reported instances, many involving violence or threats against protesters at rallies in support of Israel or in support of Palestinians over the last two weeks as war broke out between Israel and Hamas.

Other attacks and harassment reported by the groups were directed at random Muslim or Jewish people in public.

The Anti-Defamation League’s Center on Extremism reported in a statement Wednesday that the organization recorded at least 312 reports of antisemitic acts between October 7 and October 23 — compared to 64 recorded during the same time period in 2022.

Those reports included graffiti, slurs or anonymous postings, as well as physical violence such as a woman being punched in the face in New York by an attacker who the league says said “You are Jewish.”

The 312 reports included 109 anti-Israel sentiments spoken or proclaimed at rallies the Anti-Defamation League’s Center on Extremism found to be “explicit or strong implicit support for Hamas and/or violence against Jews in Israel”, according to the statement.
