has laid into his political rival and accused him of invoking Nazi Germany at a recent rally in .

Trump said to his supporters that if elected in 2024 he would "root out the communists, Marxists, fascists and the radical left thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our country that lie and steal and cheat on elections," referring to his false claim that the 2020 US election was stolen.

Biden said the comments echoed that of language used in Nazi Germany in the lead up to World War II and throughout.

"In just the last few days, Trump has said if he returns to office he's gonna go after all those who oppose him and wipe out what he called the 'vermin...in America'... it echoes language you heard in Nazi Germany in the 30s. It isn't even the first time," Biden said at a fundraiser in San Francisco.

He continued: "Trump also recently talked about quote, 'the blood of America is being poisoned'... Again, echoes the same phrases used in Nazi Germany."

This isn't the first time Trump has used incendiary language to embolden his supporters.

He recently said that immigrants who entered the country illegally were "poisoning the blood of our country," according to a report by Reuters.

His campaign officials have also rejected accusations of using Nazi-style rhetoric and previous comparisons to Italian dictator Mussolini.

Spokesperson Steven Cheung said: "Those who try to make that ridiculous assertion are clearly snowflakes grasping for anything because they are suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome and their sad, miserable existence will be crushed when President Trump returns to the White House."

During the fundraiser, Biden also pointed out Trump's attacks on Paul Pelosi, the husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

He said: “On more than one occasion in recent weeks, he’s [Trump] made a joke about the assaults on Nancy Pelosi’s husband.

“There’s no place in America for political violence.”

Paul Pelosi was attacked with a hammer during a home invasion in San Francisco in October 2022, and the case is currently on trial.
