Biden can't lecture Americans about guns until his own son sees justice, says PEGGY GRANDE

President Reagan's former assistant Peggy Grande on why Joe Biden is out to get Donald Trump come what may and make sure his son Hunter avoids any legal comeback.

Joe Biden

Former President Donald Trump was recently indicted for charges that could send him to prison for 400 years and cost him $9million in fines. This should delight the White House.

It’s been reported that in April of 2022, Joe Biden told his inner circle that he believes “Donald Trump is a threat to Democracy and should be prosecuted”.

Biden expressed that he wanted Attorney General Merrick Garland to be less “ponderous judge” and more like a “prosecutor willing to take decisive action.”

Well, Joe Biden is getting his wish. Not only has the legal system been weaponized against Biden’s number one political opponent by indicting Donald Trump on 37 counts of violating seven different Federal laws but has simultaneously been used to shield Biden’s own son from fair and full legal prosecution.

Hunter Biden

After five years of investigating Hunter Biden for tax evasion and illegal possession of a firearm, this straightforward case was conveniently swept under the Biden rug, after several elements of it had been allowed to expire due to the statute of limitations running out.

And what perfect timing as Joe Biden just held his first real campaign event and knew that Hunter’s outstanding legal issues would be a continual distraction.

Those issues magically all went away, while simultaneously ensuring that Joe Biden’s top political rival, Donald Trump, is perpetually made to chase his own tail in court.

So, despite admissions on Hunter’s laptop and clear and convicting evidence of guilt, Hunter Biden was charged with two misdemeanors for not paying his 2017 and 2018 taxes, with no mention of how a man without a job or experience made enough money – over $3M in two years - to owe over $200,000 in taxes. The average American would have much more to answer for.

A felony gun charge was allowed to enter “pre-trial diversion” which likely ensures Hunter will avoid jail time, without even a felony conviction on his record.

Others charged with lying on a gun application or illegally possessing a firearm are jailed without other options being afforded to them. We always thought Democrats wanted guns out of the hands of everyone.

Everyone, apparently, except for Hunter Biden. So, for the Democrats, it’s okay for Hunter to have a gun illegally, but the Biden administration still wants to take guns out of the hands of law-abiding citizens nationwide. Interesting.

Also conveniently timed was a quiet settlement made between Hunter and the mother of his daughter in an Arkansas court.  Had this gone to trial it would have required Hunter Biden to expose all his financial dealings.

It’s understandable why he would want to settle this prior to further financial scrutiny. Though trust me – the House Oversight Committee under the leadership of James Comer will continue with their own investigation – like bloodhounds on a scent.

In the Hunter Biden plea settlement, there were two interesting elements that should not be overlooked.  First, what was he not charged with?

As part of this case, the prosecutors were also looking into Hunter’s potential violation of the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) which requires individuals to register as foreign agents if they lobby or engage in foreign advocacy abroad.

There is abundant evidence on Hunter’s own laptop that he was in clear violation of this law, yet no charges were brought against him.

The second element is that Hunter Biden’s lawyer, along with the mainstream media,

The Department of Justice, however, says they are “still investigating”, which may be an excuse to stonewall any further requests for information associated with the case.  If the case is still “open”, even in name only, it may make it more difficult for James Comer and the House Oversight Committee to get access to the evidence they have requested.

And this week an IRS whistleblower gave a public interview which laid out extensive evidence about the Hunter Biden investigation which directly contradicts what Attorney General Merrick Garland has said.

Statements made by these men cannot both be true, so one person is lying.

Hopefully, Congress will be able to determine who. This evidence is crucial, not primarily to further indict Hunter Biden, but to see if President Biden is compromised by his actions or involvement in these illegal activities.

The American people have a right to know whether Hunter Biden was engaged in overseas business dealings which turned into influence peddling, trading cash for access to the Obama – Biden administration, even causing policy decisions to be changed or made.

These are serious charges and require serious investigation.  Americans should demand it.

The whistleblower’s testimony raised more questions than it answered.

Why did the investigation into Hunter Biden not follow department protocols?

Who ensured that it was roadblocked?  And that the clock was run out on the most serious accusations?  Why do leaks continue to be tolerated from the DOJ and FBI and even the Special Counsel’s office? Why have the millions of dollars paid to the Biden family from foreign governments not been followed or questioned?

Why hasn’t Hunter Biden been asked to testify under oath about his overseas business dealings? Why does the media continue to have zero journalistic curiosity for the explosive accusations made against the Bidens? Why hasn’t Merrick Garland been charged with lying to Congress?  These are just a few things that Americans should demand answers to.

According to the Democrats, the Hunter situation is all settled now. There’s nothing further here except for the left to point and say, “See – the law is being fairly applied. A Biden has been prosecuted and a Trump has been prosecuted.” An eye for an eye, so to speak.  Republicans strongly disagree.

The court of public opinion is already weighing in and determining whether each of these two cases – against Donald Trump and Hunter Biden - is a fair, legal, equally pursued prosecution, or if perhaps there is evidence of political persecution. There’s wide consensus that “no one is above the law”, but many believe now that doesn’t apply if you’re a Democrat or your last name is Biden.  Many believe that in the plea deal Hunter Biden was allowed to enter, that justice was not done, but rather, a further cover-up was.
