Jessica Chastain wants The Help sequel to be about her and Octavia Spencer's characters living together.

If it was up to Jessica Chastain, The Help sequel would be about her and Octavia Spencer's characters living together.

Housewife Celia Foote and maid Minny Jackson had a special relationship amid racism in 1960s Mississippi in Tate Taylor's Best Picture-nominated 2011 film.

On Entertainment Weekly's Awardist podcast, the Oscar-winning actress said she often thinks about reprising her role.

Chastain said: "You know who I think about all the time, and I just wish I could play her [again]? Celia Foote. I just want to do something, Celia and Minny, and see what happened."

The continued: "You know they ended up living together and raising the baby together, they were best friends. How amazing would that film be? I loved her, and I got to be a bit silly."

Chastain's Celia was definitely silly and blubbly, which weirded Minny out, at least when they first met.

Minny certainly took the new wife under her wing and taught her a lot about running a household - and they became best friends by the end of the film.

Though both characters had their own issues, Chastain says that she felt "so happy" playing Celia among a huge A-list cast, which included Viola Davis, Emma Stone, Allison Janney, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sissy Spacek, Leslie Jordan, and Cicely Tyson.

The Molly's Game actress added: "A lot of my characters I feel like I got to experience a lot. Celia, it was such a deep dive for me.

"I really threw on that character and I didn't really get to mine that much material, because I was a supporting part of that story. That's a character I wish I could revisit."

However, starring in The Help led Chastain to her first Oscar nomination and to many great roles.

The following year she was nominated again for her leading role in Zero Dark Thirty.

In 2021, Chastain took home the Best Actress Oscar for her role as Tammy Faye in The Eyes of Tammy Faye.

It's great to hear that Chastain is willing to work with Spencer again, but her co-star Oscar Isaac isn't as lucky.

The actress recently admitted that her friendship with the Star Wars actor has “never quite been the same” after they co-starred in HBO's miniseries Scenes From a Marriage together in 2021 and that she needs a break from him
