Ivanka Trump asserted that discussing Trump Organization loans with her husband, Jared Kushner, was a commonplace practice as she faced a barrage of questions regarding the pursuit of favorable deals during the New York fraud trial.

During her testimony, the former first daughter also touched upon her father's profound and nostalgic affection for his Doral golf club, recounting how he would take her mother, Ivana, to the spa.

Ivanka Trump returned to the witness stand to field inquiries from both the New York State Attorney and her father's legal team, following Justice Arthur Engoron's approval to discuss emails exchanged between her and Jared.

At 42 years old, she stands as the final witness for New York in a case that could have significant implications for her family's business presence in the bustling metropolis.

Attorney Chris Kise had argued that the emails should be protected by spousal privilege, contending that "the witness should not be compelled to disclose conversations with her spouse." Nevertheless, Engoron sided with New York Attorney General Letitia James' office, citing the fact that the emails were sent from work addresses.

In the emails, it appeared that Ivanka shared information about Trump Organization loans with her business-savvy husband, who, in turn, provided advice on securing better deals.

Ivanka Trump says she received $4 million from sale of building

Ivanka Trump confirmed that she personally received over $4 million from the Trump Organization's sale of the Old Post Office building in Washington, D.C. in the previous year.

A court document revealed that she received a total profit of $4,013,204 following the building's sale in 2022, to which Ivanka Trump responded, "That aligns with my recollection."

New York Attorney General Letitia James had promised to demonstrate that Ivanka Trump directly benefited from the alleged fraud at the heart of the case.

Ivanka Trump has now concluded her direct examination and is currently undergoing cross-examination by defense attorney Jesus Suarez. During the cross-examination, she reiterated that she had no involvement in reviewing, approving, or determining the values in her father's financial statements, which state attorneys claim contained deceptive appraisals.

Jared Kushner would lend 'perspective' on deals, says Ivanka Trump

Ivanka Trump testified that her husband, Jared Kushner, who had also served as a senior adviser in the Trump White House, would frequently provide input on her family's real estate negotiations in the years preceding Donald Trump's presidency.

State attorneys presented emails that Ivanka Trump had sent to her husband during discussions with bankers regarding loan interest rates. When questioned by state attorney Louis Solomon about sharing these records with Kushner, Ivanka Trump explained, "It is not unusual for me to seek my husband's perspective on matters I was handling."

She further stated, "My husband also had experience in real estate and could offer insights, so we would occasionally discuss our respective projects."

Attorneys representing Trump contested the admissibility of Kushner's emails, invoking spousal privilege.

Justice Engoron overruled these objections, emphasizing that since the communication occurred over work-related emails, the confidentiality privilege was waived, stating, "If you use a work email that is subject to being viewed by others, you relinquish confidentiality."

Direct examination of Ivanka Trump ends

The New York attorney general's office has ended its questioning of Ivanka Trump, the eldest daughter of former President Donald Trump.

She is now being cross-examined by Trump attorney Jesus Suarez.

Ivanka says she 'does not recall' discussion of financial statements

State attorney Louis Solomon was reportedly visibly expressed frustration with Ivanka Trump's limited recollection during an exchange concerning the Old Post Office building in Washington, D.C., which Donald Trump had been involved in.

Solomon sought to confront Ivanka Trump with a document revealing that in 2011, the General Services Administration (GSA), responsible for the building's renovation selection process, had raised concerns about Donald Trump's financial statements. New York Attorney General Letitia James, who asserts that these statements contained fraudulent valuations, alleges that both Donald Trump and Ivanka Trump had addressed these concerns during an in-person meeting with GSA officials.

Ivanka Trump responded, "It was a general presentation. I don't recall with specificity any discussion of financial statements," which prompted Solomon to raise his hands in exasperation.

Solomon, expressing frustration, remarked, "When I ask a question, she doesn't remember. The witness does have a recollection, your honor!"

Judge Engoron directly asked Ivanka Trump if she wished to clarify, to which she reiterated her description of the meeting, stating, "I recall one in-person meeting" focused on the "big picture" of the project. She emphasized that she had no recollection of discussions related to "financial statements or anything granular like that."

Ivanka Trump proposed lowering net worth requirement for her father

During the questioning of Ivanka Trump by Louis Solomon, a lawyer representing the New York attorney general, emails were presented in which Ivanka Trump suggested reducing the required net worth for her father as part of a loan agreement with Deutsche Bank.

The final agreement for the Deutsche Bank loan stipulated that Donald Trump, acting as the guarantor, must maintain a minimum net worth of $2.5 billion.

A previous draft of the loan terms proposed by the bank had set the net worth requirement at $3 billion. Ivanka Trump's email, displayed in court by Solomon, proposed a modification to lower the net worth requirement to $2 billion.

At the time of these discussions in 2011, Donald Trump's net worth, as stated in his financial condition report, was $4.2 billion.

These loan terms hold significance because the attorney general asserts that Trump's falsified financial statements enabled him to secure more favorable loan rates. An expert witness for the attorney general had previously testified in the trial, claiming that Trump's gains resulting from this fraudulent activity amounted to $168 million.

Notably, Trump was able to obtain preferential terms for the Doral property through Deutsche Bank's loan, which was backed by his financial statements, because he personally guaranteed the loans through the private wealth management group, offering an option for high-net-worth individuals to support the loan.

In contrast, Trump Organization received different terms from Deutsche Bank's commercial real estate division for the same property.

Ivanka distances herself from nflated value of the penthouse apartment she leased from her father

Ivanka Trump distanced herself from any knowledge of a discrepancy regarding the value of a penthouse apartment she had leased in one of her father's Manhattan buildings.

During questioning by Louis Solomon, an attorney representing the attorney general, Ivanka Trump was asked about the existence of a purchase option for her penthouse apartment at Trump Park Avenue, priced at $8.5 million. She confirmed the existence of such an option.

However, according to the attorney general's civil complaint, the stated value of the apartment on Donald Trump's financial statement was $20.8 million.

Solomon inquired whether the value of her purchase option had been taken into consideration in her father's financial statement. Ivanka Trump responded, "As I had mentioned a year-and-a half ago, I was not involved in his financial statement, so I cannot comment on what it did or did not account for."

Solomon proceeded with a series of questions regarding Donald Trump's financial statements, to which Ivanka Trump replied that she was not involved in the preparation of her father's personal statements, was not aware of assisting in asset valuations, and did not recollect ever reviewing them.

Ivanka Trump grilled on securing financing for Doral golf resort with Donald's financial statements

The New York attorney general's office guided Ivanka Trump through her involvement in securing financing for the Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Florida.

AG attorney Louis Solomon presented email correspondence in which Ivanka Trump explored potential financing options from various lenders to fund the Trump Organization's Doral property.

Some of Donald Trump's financial statements were shared with certain potential lenders.

Trump's attorney, Chris Kise, raised objections to the inclusion of documents related to financing attempts that did not come to fruition for the Doral property, deeming them irrelevant.

Judge Engoron disagreed with the objection and overruled it.

In an email from August 2011, presented in court, Ivanka Trump informed an executive at Beal Bank that her father's financial statements were being sent via mail for their review.

Ivanka Trump testifies about her connection to the Deutsche Bank loans for multiple Trump properties

The New York attorney general's office begun its questioning of Ivanka Trump, delving into her business background and her roles within the Trump Organization.

Trump disclosed that a significant portion of her time at the Trump Organization was devoted to overseeing the development of the Old Post Office in Washington, DC, which was transformed into a hotel, as well as the management of the Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Florida.

During the questioning led by Louis Solomon, an attorney representing the attorney general's office, Ivanka Trump acknowledged that she had received proceeds from the sale of the Old Post Office building in 2022.

She stated that, apart from these proceeds and a fixed income from a consulting entity within the company, she did not believe she had received any compensation from Trump Organization entities after her departure in 2017, when she joined the White House workforce in Washington.

Ivanka Trump revealed that her husband, Jared Kushner, had introduced her to a banker named Rosemary Vrablic within Deutsche Bank's Private Wealth Management group around 2011 or 2012.

This introduction ultimately led to the loans in question in this case, involving the Doral property, the Old Post Office, and a Chicago property. Notably, her father, Donald Trump, personally guaranteed these loans with financial statements that the judge has ruled to be fraudulent.

'You cannot cheat for personal gain,' AG tweets before trial

New York Attorney General Letitia James took to Twitter in a warning before Ivanka Trump took the stand.

Donald Trump not present at testimony

Former President Trump was notably absent from the courtroom as his daughter, Ivanka Trump, took the stand this morning.

Earlier this week, the former president himself testified in a significant fraud case, passionately defending his business practices while accusing the New York attorney general and the judge of being politically motivated "Trump haters."

Throughout the seven-week trial, Trump had been present during the testimonies of various witnesses, but he chose not to attend when his two adult sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, gave their testimonies.

Before the court proceedings commenced on Wednesday, Trump expressed his disappointment over his "wonderful and beautiful daughter" being compelled to testify. He voiced his concerns on Truth Social, stating that they were attempting to involve Ivanka in the case despite a Court of Appeals ruling that she cannot be charged, and he found this situation to be "sad."

Ivanka Trump takes the stand

Ivanka Trump has taken the witness stand in the civil fraud trial in New York involving her father and his company.

In contrast to previous days when her father, Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., and Eric Trump testified, there was no permission for cameras to capture images of Ivanka Trump within the courtroom as the session commenced.

In the past, photos and videos displayed the Trump family sitting at the defense table before their testimony.

However, Ivanka Trump had been previously dismissed as a defendant, and as such, she proceeded directly to the witness stand like any other trial witness, which is why cameras were not allowed.

The trial has maintained strict restrictions on video cameras and photography throughout its proceedings.

What has Ivanka previously said about the case?

Ivanka was among the Trump Organization's most influential employees and used that power when her father was in the White House.

She, like her brothers Donald Junior and Eric, had significant posts in the company - but Ivanka has claimed to have minimal knowledge over Trump's financial statements.

In a sworn testimony for the investigation prior to the lawsuit, Ivanka said: "I don’t, specifically, know what was prepared on his behalf for him as a person, separate and distinct from the organization and the properties that I was working on."

'Sad' Donald Trump denounces New York judge

Donald Trump described his "sadness" at the manner in which his daughter Ivanka Trump is being forced to take the stand during his New York fraud trial.

Ivanka is set to take the stand in the Big Apple today as the state's last witness in the New York attorney general's $250million civil fraud case against Trump.

The one-time US leader's daughter has previously argued against having to testify in the trial, claiming she does not hold the relevant information about the alleged actions within the case.

And her father has now opened up on his anger that she will now be involved in proceedings.

Taking to Truth Social - the businessman's social media platform - Trump raged last night: "Tomorrow my wonderful and beautiful daughter, Ivanka, is going to the Lower Manhattan Courthouse, at the direction of Letitia Peekaboo James, the corrupt and racist New York State Attorney General, who has allowed murder and violent crime in New York to flourish, and a Trump-Hating, out of control clubhouse appointed judge, Arthur Engoron."

He added that it was "sad" she had to make such an appearance.

Why has Ivanka been called?

New York General Letitia James included Ivanka as a defendant in her lawsuit, claiming she had an integral role in Trump's financial statements and the negotiations of business deals that saw the company rake in millions.

Though Ivanka claimed that she did not have the relevant information James was chasing, the lawyer argued the opposite, adding that she "indisputably has personal knowledge of facts relevant to the claims".

Chris Kise, Trump's attorney, though, said that the prosecution "want another free-for-all on another one of President Trump's children".

But Judge Arthur Engoron agreed with James, compelling Ivanka to testify, with pleas from the businesswoman that she could not appear "in the middle of a school week" falling on deaf ears.
