Ivanka Trump has kept well out of the spotlight as her father Donald Trump was arraigned - but she's been keeping her distance for a while.

Trump, 77, faces charges of plotting to overturn the state’s 2020 results. He was required to pay a bail bond of $200,000 to be released from prison while he awaits trial.

Cops released a mugshot of Mr Trump, making him the first former President to ever have such a photo taken.

Trump’s daughter Ivanka appears to have been keeping a fairly low profile for the last couple of weeks as events have unfolded.

‌The 41-year-old businesswoman has been noticeably absent on social media with her last Instagram post dated August 9 in which she appeared in a short video playing baseball.

She shared the reel with her 7.5 million followers and wrote: “Pre-game warm up with @polarpete20 and @bnimmo24 was Amazin’ ! Let’s Go Mets! [sic]”

While on X, formerly known as Twitter, she posted back on June 20 about the film Sound of Freedom which shines a spotlight on human trafficking.

Prior to this, she shared a throwback snap with her father on the platform and captioned the image: “Happy Father’s Day, dad ! I love you!”‌

Despite this recent apparent social media absenteeism, both the businesswoman and her husband Jared Kushner have frequently been spotted around Mr Trump this summer, according to Vanity Fair, who spoke to one campaign strategist at the end of July.

The implication was Mr Trump’s fortunes were again on the rise and the couple wanted to be in on his next presidential run.

“Now that the president is 40 points ahead, of course Jared is pretending he’s involved,” a former member of the Trump administration told the publication.

Whether this may now change with Mr Trump’s arrest remains to be seen.

She has previously kept her distance from her father, releasing a statement back in November 2022 about leaving US politics after Mr Trump announced his plans to return to the White House in 2024.

At the time, she said: “I love my father very much. This time around, I am choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family. I do not plan to be involved in politics.

“While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena. I am grateful to have had the honor of serving the American people and will always be proud of many of our administration’s accomplishments.”

Kushner was there to watch Trump announce his third bid for the White House, but he didn't get up on stage and his wife was nowhere to be seen.

"Trump thought he could convince Ivanka this weekend to come back and campaign for him as she was the most requested speaker after the president himself last time around … but so far she’s resisting his entreaties and holding firm, as is Jared," an insider told the New York Post.

Back in April, Ivanka spoke out on her father’s historic indictment for the first time in a social media post that saw her admit she was “pained”.

The statement came after the former leader was accused of paying hush money to adult film star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2018 election.

Writing in an Instagram post, she said: "I love my father and I love my country. Today I am pained for both.

"I appreciate the voices across the political spectrum expressing support and concern."
