Israel-Hamas ceasefire ends as 'fighting resumes'

Israeli fighter jets have carried out several strikes against Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon, including a major weapons depot, the IDF confirmed.

Forces also struck the Iran-backed group’s observation posts and other military sites used by their operatives.

The IDF said in a statement: “In response to Monday’s launches from Lebanon to Israel, a short while ago Israeli Air Force fighter jets struck Hezbollah launch posts, terror infrastructure, and a military compound.

“In addition, in response to a launch from Lebanon to the area of Zar’it in northern Israel, the [Israeli army] struck the sources of fire. Furthermore, in order to remove a threat, the [Israeli army] struck a few other locations in Lebanese territory.”

These attacks come as Israel has ramped up its offensive against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon as part of its war with Hamas.

All of the projectiles landed in open areas and caused no injuries, the IDF said.

There have been reports that a “hostile” drone entered Israeli airspace from Lebanon and crashed near Moshav Margaliot.

Israeli forces recovered the UAV, and the IDF said there were no injuries in the incident.

Hezbollah announced on Monday that it has conducted strikes and targeted 11 Israeli border posts so far, and affirmed that the strikes resulted in direct hits, according to Hezbollah’s television channel al-Manar.

Then on Monday morning, mortar shells were fired from Lebanon in an area of Kibbutz Yiftah at an IDF post.

There were several launches Monday afternoon towards the Har Dov region and another towards Kibbutz Misgav Am.

The IDF also said on Monday that they targeted one of Hezbollah’s operational headquarters and other terror infrastructure.

The Israeli forces destroyed one of the militant group’s weapons depots after the mortar shells were fired.

Ziv Medical Center in Safed admitted 12 people who had been wounded by missiles fired by Hezbollah from Lebanon on Sunday, the hospital said.

The hospital said one woman and 11 men aged 20 to 65 were injured.
