Heart-wrenching moment boy, 9, held hostage by Hamas for 49 days spots his father

Hamas released 24 hostages yesterday as part of a ceasefire agreement with Israel, including 13 Israelis held captive for almost seven weeks.

This is the tear-jerking moment little Ohad Munder was finally reunited with his father after being held captive for 49 days by Hamas.

The nine-year-old boy was released as part of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.

Video footage shows the youngster walking through the children's hospital where he, three other children and four mothers were sent for medical care, when an official points out his father.

He waves to him, before breaking into a sprint with his arms open wide – embracing his overjoyed dad who picks him up and gives him a big hug.

Other freed hostages are then also seen being reunited with and embracing family members.

Most of the Israeli hostages who were released by Hamas yesterday are said to be in 'good health', Schneider's Children's Medical Centre, receiving them in Israel, announced.

Doctors have conducted preliminary examinations on the patients and are all in good physical condition.

Yesterday, a total of 24 hostages were released from Gaza and transported through the Rafah crossing into Egypt after seven weeks in captivity.

The exchange is the beginning phase of an agreement expected to free upwards of 50 captives of Hamas.

Today, Hamas is set to free more hostages.

Key mediator Qatar is expected to announce the numbers of prisoners and hostages to be freed later Saturday.

Israeli authorities said they had received a list of the hostages to be freed but did not provide numbers or the precise timing.

Israeli security officials are reviewing the list, the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement.

His government has vow to work for the release of all hostages taken by Hamas in an attack on Israel on October 7.
