IDF continues to carry out strikes in Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have launched a significant offensive in northern Gaza, specifically in the Jabaliya area.

The 551st Brigade and the Navy's elite Shayetet 13 commando unit were reported to have raided Hamas's general security headquarters in the region.

The IDF disclosed that the 162nd Division extended its operations deeper into Jabaliya after successfully encircling a refugee camp in the preceding days.

The primary objective, according to the IDF, was to eliminate Hamas assets in the area.

A joint operation with the Shin Bet saw reservists from the 551st Brigade and Shayetet 13 commandos targeting the Hamas general security headquarters in Jabaliya. According to the IDF, the mission yielded a significant haul of weapons, equipment, and intelligence.

During a joint operation with the Paratroopers Brigade, IDF airstrikes targeted a group of Hamas Nukhba operatives, allegedly discovering a cache of rockets in the process.

The Israeli Navy has also been carrying out numerous strikes along the Gaza coast to support ground forces.

Since the truce between Israel and Hamas ended on Friday, at least 900 Palestinians have been killed, according to Gaza's health authorities.

A statement from the IDF declared a significant territorial presence, stating: "We are in the heart of Jabaliya, in the heart of Shejaiya, and from this evening, also in the heart of Khan Younis," referencing strongholds near Gaza City.

The statement highlighted the intensity of recent battles, emphasizing the highest number of terrorists killed, engagements, and the extensive use of ground and aerial firepower.

The IDF also acknowledged that the collaboration of infantry, armor, engineering, and air forces had led to successful face-to-face encounters with Hamas, resulting in numerous "terrorists killed."

The IDF's statement also noted that some weapons were discovered in civilian structures, highlighting the challenges posed by militants embedding themselves within civilian areas. The military asserted its commitment to continuing the offensive to deepen its achievements in the ongoing operation.
