As a New Jerseyan, there’s nothing I love more than an outing at a bagel shop or diner. And I like to think I can rate them pretty well.

The tri-state area boasts a myriad of bagel shops and vintage diners, and everyone thinks their hometown has the best one. New Jersey, in particular, is the diner capital of the world, with the small state boasting about 530 old-school establishments where breakfast and lunch options and vintage booths abound.

When I think back to my youth, I recall fond memories hanging out at diners and making runs to bagel shops with my friends and family.

Whenever I return, I relish in stopping by my favorite bagel shop that offers light and fluffy bagels and the best iced coffee, which we drink year round.

And there’s a good reason it has the best iced coffee - they use a genius hack to prevent it from watering down. Here’s how to do it.

The beloved bagel shop pours the iced coffee directly into their ice cube tray makers rather than water, which are then stored in the freezer to consolidate.

Once the ice cubes are frozen, they can be placed into your iced beverage, so that when it melts it just adds more coffee to the cup.

You can use this hack with just about any beverage, including teas. Some people also like to add edible flowers and other fun items to their ice cubes that look gorgeous in the glass for a special occasion.

You can make your own Starbucks pumpkin spice latte at home using this pumpkin syrup recipe that only requires four ingredients.

While the sciene is debated, some studies suggest coffee can be good for kidney health and fights Alzheimer's.
