'I'm an RV expert - I have three genius hacks to keep yours cool in a heatwave'

TikToker and RV owner has tried everything when it comes to cooling down his RV. He's come up with three genius solutions and they don't cost a fortune

TikTok shares important RV heat safety tips

With the recent heat waves, travelers need to do all they can to escape the heat. TikToker (@baileygoesoutside) has tried everything and offers these essential tips that will keep your RV cool in these extreme temperatures.

Bailey explained his own RV is a warm 71F inside and 105F outside. He explains that thanks to the continuous temperatures of over 100F, it is impossible for the RV's cooling system to keep up.

Thankfully, he has perfected the act of cooling down his space. While some think blackout blinds are the answer; they are not, he says. They only "trap" the heat inside.

The main reason, he explains, is because the heat comes in through the windows with 78 percent of the sunlight that comes in, actually transferring to heat. Bailey offers his top three cheap, easy, and effective methods to stay cool.

He demonstrates each of the methods with simple-to-follow instructions. Some of them are "home remedies".

Hacks to keep your RV cool

Aluminium foil

Place aluminum foil up at the windows, blocking all the direct sunlight.

Bubble Wrap

You could also use bubble wrap. This reduces up to 50 percent of the heat and at the same time, still lets in the light.

Reflective insulation roll

This reduces up to 92 percent of the heat inside and works incredibly well. All you have to do is cut and shape it over the windows receiving the direct sun. It can be fixed simply by using Velcro strips.

As the sun moves around, using the velcro makes it easy to move the reflective insulation around from window to window.   It will work two-fold; keeping your RV stay cool and keeping the searing heat out all day.

Bailey explains that during the run of seven days of consistent heat, he has been able to maintain the inside temperature at about 71 percent.
