Ken Hudson Campbell, known for playing Santa in the Christmas classic Home Alone, has had his mouth cancer successful removed by doctors after reaching his goal on GoFundMe.

The actor's family kickstarted the donation page because he needs help funding his recent cancer diagnosis.

Campbell - who also appeared in classics like Groundhog Day with Bill Murray and Armageddon with Bruce Willis during his 35-year career - was diagnosed in late October after a tumor "elusively grew on the bottom of his mouth and began encroaching on his teeth."

The statement on the GoFundMe says he was scheduled for a 10-hour surgery to remove the tumor, which would also remove a large part of his jawbone.

Now, Campbell's daughter has given an update.

The Hollywood star's daughter Michaela told TMZ  that her father's Thursday morning surgery was a success as doctors managed to remove the tumor.

She added that she and the actor's family were able to visit him later that night once he was out of the OR.

By now, Campbell should have left the ICU and been transferred to regular inpatient hospital care for about another week in the aftermath of having a feeding tube, skin grafts, and a Tracheotomy.

It will take about 6 months of recovery before he can get back to normality, as he undergoes reconstructive surgery, rounds of radiation and chemotherapy.

Before his surgury, TMZ reported that, along with a large part of his jawbone, his lymph nodes, a part of his leg bone was removed.

Surgeons planned to reconstruct a new jaw for Ken from this leg bone, install it, and then treat him with radiation.

Unfortunately, Campbell lost his SAG-AFTRA health insurance in January 2022.

Even though he's found new insurance, hefty out-of-pocket costs are anticipated.

So, his family asked people to donate to his GoFundMe page.

The page has now surpassed its $100K goal, sitting at $102k at the time of writing.

The page reads: "You may know Ken from his roles as Santa in Home Alone, the guy Bill Murray kisses in Groundhog’s Day, or in Armageddon where his character loses his life saving the world from a giant asteroid. Now, we need the world’s help to save Ken."
The page continued to say that Campbell "is a family man" and a "loving father of two children with an admirable lust for life, and a passion for acting, writing, & sports."
"It is possible that this procedure will affect his ability to work as an actor in the future."
The message concluded with: "We are asking for your help so that Kenny can use the time ahead to return to health, and spend more time with family & friends. Every prayer, positive thought, dollar, or gesture of support means the world to our family."
Some of Campbell's fellow showbiz stars have been some heavy hitters offering donations.
Bob Odenkirk, Jeff Garlin and Tim Meadows donated $1k each, $5k came from The Big Bang Theory creator Bill Prady, and Steve Carell donated the most with $10,000.

The Office star has appeared in three projects with Campbell dating back to 1991, starting their careers together on the comedy circuit, and co-starred on TV movie Life As We Know It! in 1991 alongside four other comedians.

Now, all Campbell has to worry about is getting better.
