‘I’m an auto-influencer – 80 percent of drivers do not know about these hidden features'

A well-known online motoring expert has highlighted a number of hidden features that can be found on most new cars, stating that 80 percent of drivers are unaware of how to activate them.

The TikTok user @dongcheshijie regularly posts videos to her page, helping motorists get the most from their car and avoiding accidents by teaching them driving skills.

In one of her videos, @dongcheshijie advised drivers on how they can set up features such as automatic door locking and one-touch electric windows in a matter of seconds.

She explained: “80 percent of people do not know the hidden functions of the car. Press and hold the lock button after turning on the power, and the automatic locking function will be set in ten seconds.

“Raise the window up, press the window button for five seconds, and the one-touch window function is set.”

Many of the discussed in the video help to keep the driver and other occupants safe, and prevent thieves from being able to break in.

Whilst not all cars will feature all the functions seen in @doncheshijie’s video, many drivers may not know about all the features offered on their model.

By reading the owner’s manual, motorists are not only able to see exactly what their car comes with, but also how to activate these features.

Later in the video, @dongcheshijie explains that forgetful motorists can set a feature which automatically raises all the windows in their car when it is locked.

She added: “After getting out of the car and locking it, press and hold the lock button on the car key. All the windows will close automatically in three seconds.

“Press and hold the unlock button on the car key. All the windows will be lowered automatically in three seconds.”
