The son of one of ' co-founders has warned the world the terror group will come for "all of us" if does not succeed in destroying its capabilities.

Hamas sparked a huge escalation in tension on October 7 with its attack on Israel, killing 1,200 civilians in the process.

Israel has responded with heavy bombardment of the Gaza Strip, killing over 14,000 Palestinian civilians as it claims it is targeting Hamas infrastructure.

Mosab Hassan Yousef, son of Hamas co-founder Sheikh Hassan Yousef who also spied on the group for Israel, has warned that Hamas' crimes can not be forgiven.

On Israel's assault on Gaza, Yousef said: “So Israel now got stained by blood. This is what Hamas wanted to happen from day one. They wanted to sacrifice thousands of children so Israel can take the blame. Digging tunnels and bunkers under hospitals, schools.

"Hamas misfired. How many people killed at the hospital and they went so fast to blame Israel and the rest of the world listened to them and listened to their propaganda?

“Nobody’s concerned to check what is true and what is false; whatever that serves our political and short-term interests we go for it."

Speaking at a Misson of Israel to the UN event, Yousef added: “If Hamas is not defeated, if Hamas is not eradicated in Gaza, we will set the model, we will give the freedom to so many radical groups around the world.

"And this is just a warning. If you really care for the global security — and I speak of a person who was part of the counter-terrorism effort against radical Islamists — if Hamas is not defeated in Gaza, it will inspire many groups around the globe.

"They will see that a few thousand of savages can blackmail the international community, the superpowers and bring democracies to their knees. Many of them are watching now and many of them are very happy about how the world is responding. And many of them are satisfied to see the state of confusion and fear and anxiety.

“This is the time to get united. Because if Israel fails in Gaza, all of us will be next.”

Israel and Hamas have agreed to a temporary ceasefire starting on Friday at 7am as the two sides prepare to exchange hostages.

Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, said on Tuesday that the war with Hamas will continue after the truce.

He said: “We are at war, and we will continue the war. We will continue until we achieve all our goals.”

On the hostages, he added: "I told the dear families [of the hostages]: ‘Returning our hostages is a sacred and supreme task – and I am obligated to it together with my colleagues.

"As Maimonides says: There is no greater precept than redeeming captives. We will not relent in our efforts until we redeem them all, the young men and women, the elderly men and women, the male and female soldiers, all of them.

"In war there are stages, and in returning the hostages there are stages, but we will not relent until we achieve the absolute victory and until we bring them all back."
