Hamas has released 13 Israeli hostages after a dispute with Israel was resolved.

The armed wing of the militant group had earlier claimed Israel violated their agreement by not releasing Palestinian prisoners and by not allowing sufficient aid into northern Gaza.

They also accused Israel of operating drones in the southern region of Gaza. It led to a pause in the planned release.

However, mediator Qatar later said "obstacles were overcome" via "Qatari-Egyptian communications with both sides."

A number of other hostages not linked to the conflict have also been released.

Earlier, Osama Hamdan, the Hamas representative in Lebanon, told Lebanon-based Al Mayadeen TV the suspension is "linked to aid (entering Gaza), in addition to shootings and the rising death toll."

He claimed violations "happened yesterday, and [were] repeated today."

In response, an Israeli official denied violating the agreement.

Israel Defense Forces are holding a press conference in Tel Aviv

Daniel Hagari, a spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces, says "arrangements will be carried out as planned" tomorrow, after being asked if more delays can be expected.

He said early releases are "are baby steps, there is a very long way ahead of us", adding "we will bring the hostages back", even if more military intervention is required.

Hagari said Israel is working hard to fulfil the ceasefire agreement with Hamas.

When asked what the "red line" would be for stronger intervention, he assured Israel is working "according to the agreement". The spokesperson urged caution over remarks about a "red line".

He also said hostages are being asked "exactly what they saw and what they learned" while in captivity, without elaborating on any intel.

Hagari said Hamas leaders are being monitored - "wherever they are".
