‘I bought a bedroom essential from Goodwill for only $5 - but it could be worth $30!’

One thrifting expert is revealing the big savings on bedroom items they are able to make while shopping at Goodwill.

Shopping at second-hand stores is becoming increasingly popular and shoppers are choosing to share their hauls on social media.

On Reddit, users on the site upload pictures of their Goodwill finds on the subreddit ThriftStoreHauls.

A shopper with the username u/damestillmen posted about a breakfast table they found at a second-hand store.

According to the Reddit user, they purchased the item for only $5 but other users believe it could be worth close to $30.

The Reddit post was captioned: “My husband hates it, but I want to have fancy breakfast in bed! Found at Goodwill for $5.”

Included with the thrifty shopper’s post was a picture of the bedroom feature laying on top of their bed.

The breakfast table in question appears to be made of bamboo and includes a cupholder, as well as space that fits over someone’s legs while lying in bed.

This item appears to be ideal for anyone looking to have breakfast in bed or using their laptop before going to sleep.

In the comment section of the post, fellow thrift shoppers were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the Reddit poster’s haul

A commenter with the username u/aesved shared: “My Goodwill would’ve had this priced $29.99 and it would’ve been broken in half.”

Replying to this comment, another shopper with the username u/damestillmen said: “That is generally what is happening at our Goodwills, too. I was surprised it was so cheap.”

User u/freeneedle added: “These are super handy for other things. I used one as a lap desk on my chaise for working from home for 1.5 years.

Another Reddit thrift shopper with the username u/oscarwinner88 said: “I love it. So dreamy. Bring him breakfast in bed once, he’ll change his mind.”

The original poster replied to this: “I actually said it would be for him. I love making breakfast and he loves sleeping in. It fits perfectly under our bed, he won’t even have to know I’m keeping it.”
