One savvy shopper is sharing how they managed to purchase a popular children’s toy for $60 which is really worth $400.

The YouTuber EpikBricks is a thrifting expert who reveals how people can make money from reselling items from second-hand stores, such as Goodwill.

Recently, the thrifter gave advice to fellow thrifters on how they can find the best deals and savings

One of his recommendations was Bluebox, an online off-shoot of Goodwill which sells mystery boxes.

As well as selling jewelry and clothing, the Goodwill site sells mystery boxes with products such as Lego.

Examples of Bluebox’s offering include mystery boxes of jewelry for $44.99 and 30 pieces of Levi's Jeans for $129.99.

The company describes itself as the "lowest cost source for resellers to find sustainable and socially responsible wholesale clothing, jewelry, accessories, and more”.

In a recent video, EpikBricks divulged how he came across the website and how it will benefit other resellers.

The content creator shared: “I bought a $60 Lego mystery box and I found a $400 Lego set inside.

“I get these mystery boxes from bluebox.com which is just another Goodwill website where they sell boxes, including Lego.

“They cost $600 plus shipping and they contain 15 pounds of random Lego. I just really like the idea they can literally be anything in this mystery box.”

As part of the service, shoppers are able to purchase pallets that they can collect from a Goodwill site.

It is also possible for thrifting shoppers to have bulk boxes delivered to private residences but they will need to pay a small charge.

According to the YouTuber creator, the Lego set in its entirety could be sold in full but individual pieces are valuable due to being made as part of a one-of-a-kind Lego blue set.

Certain pieces in the 15-pound set of Legos are able to be resold for anywhere between $1 to $25 apiece.

For example, a limited edition Lego train set made in partnership with Danish company Maersk could be worth $400.

He added: “Even though I'm laser-focused on finding parts for the train now, I still [have to] keep my eyes peeled for other parts of interest.”
