'I found these kitchen essentials for $11 at Goodwill - but the set retails for $300’

One shopper is revealing how they were able to make a sizable saving of $289 on a set of kitchen essentials during a Goodwill visit.

Thrifting has become a popular hobby for many Americans with some making big savings shopping at second-hand stores.

On social media, savvy consumers document their findings and offer tips to people looking to save money.

Reddit users regularly update the subreddit ThriftStoreHauls with the items they find at places like Goodwill.

A lucky shopper was able to find an expensive set of pots and pans for the kitchen which were being sold at the second-hand store for way less.

Posting on the subreddit, Reddit user u/davegotler managed to find a pair of All-Clad D5 pans.

Alongside his post, the thrifting expert included a picture of the set which included two stainless steel pans.

He captioned the picture: “I couldn’t believe it. I was thinking as I walked in that I never score any good pans, and then saw these on the shelf!.”

All-Clad is known among many people for being popular with chefs so it is surprising to find such a deal at Goodwill.

While the shopper only spent $11 at the second-hand store, a set of pans from this brand sometimes retail for upwards of $300.

One commenter named Determined_Cucumber shared “Good find. I had a similar sense of zeal when I found a Copper Core version.

“Now head to your local TJ-Maxx if you want the official All-Clad cleaners for cheap. I paid about $3 for them.

“I would recommend Bar Keeper’s Friend, but in my experience, it scratches the hell out of the shiny finish.

“The official brand version is less harsh. Also to remove bluish discoloration after cooking, pour in white vinegar.”

Another with the username everyothernametaken2 added: “Amazing prices. You’re going to love them. They’re two of my favorite pans ever.
