The internet went wild when Gigi Hadid shared her spin on Carbone’s spicy vodka pasta during the Covid-19 lockdown.While the craze has surpassed, the recipe still hits the spot.

If you are looking for a flavorful but easy-to-make pasta recipe, this is a great choice endorsed by the fan-favorite supermodel. No need to make reservations months in advance at the exclusive Italian restaurant Greenwich Village that will break the bank. You can make it at home for relatively cheap in under 25 minutes. The Next in Fashion star sat down with Grazia Magazine to share her secret recipe.

How to make Gigi Hadid’s viral spicy vodka pasta

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup of olive oil

  • 1 small clove of garlic, diced
  • ¼ of green onion
  • ¼ cup of tomato paste

  • ½ cup of heavy cream

  • 1 tablespoon of vodka (optional)

  • 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes

  • 1 box of pasta of choice, rigatoni is recommended

  • 1 tablespoon of butter

  • ¼ cup of parmesan cheese

  • Basil, chopped, to serve

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

First, put a bowl over high heat. Once it comes to a rolling boi, add your pasta. Make sure to save 1/4 of the water before draining.

In a large saucepan, add olive oil, garlic, and onion over medium heat and cook until soft. Add tomato paste and cook until it appears “darker" in color and gets "a bit caramelised," she told Grazia Magazine.

Then add in the heavy cream and vodka. Mix and cook through until evaporated. Add in the red pepper flakes according to preference. Keep stirring until combined. Season with salt and pepper. Remove sauce from the heat.

Next add in the butter and stir over a medium heat until it has melted. It should be “sauccyyyy," Hadid said.

Drain your pasta if you haven't already and add it to the sauce. Once mixed together, you can add the parmesan cheese and stir. Add more salt and pepper to taste.

Top with a sprinkling of parmesan cheese and basil, and then it is ready to serve - Buon appetito!
