UFC icon Georges St-Pierre has insisted he will never fight again after CEO Dana White revealed he was putting a "super-fight" together.

During an interview on the Full Send Podcast, White casually revealed the emergence of such a fight for the UFC, explicitly stating Conor McGregor would not be part of it. Given that a matchup between McGregor and Michael Chandler was not a feasible option due to their shared division, fans quickly turned their attention to legendary sports figures such as St. Pierre and Khabib Nurmagomedov to speculate on the potential participants.

"There is," White said. "We're talking about one right now, actually, that just popped up a few days ago. So, I can't talk about it. Well, every fight that you would consider a super fight would involve McGregor, but this one isn't, no," he continued.

St-Pierre denied rumors of returning to MMA before fans could speculate him as a participant in White's matchup plans. "Absolutely not," St-Pierre told the media after Sunday's UFC Fight Pass Invitational event. "I promise you, I always told myself that I will not fight in the cage after the age of 40."

"I don't say I will never compete in any combat sport event," he continued. "But a fight in a cage professionally in a serious thing for my legacy, I will not do it."

While GSP confirmed that he would not return to MMA, he mentioned he was open to competing in a different discipline in combat sports. He expressed interest in Brazillian jiu-jitsu matches, which presented a new avenue to explore.

"I'm extremely competitive, and sometimes I forget that I'm 42, and I don't give myself enough rest, and that's why I think I partially tore my labrum, my subscap, and my rotator cuff," St-Pierre said. "But my shoulder is getting better, and we'll see how it goes."

Initially slated for a grappling match against former rival Nick Diaz at the UFC Fight Pass Invitational at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, St-Pierre was forced to withdraw due to the shoulder injury. Despite being unable to compete, St-Pierre took on the role of commentator for the event instead.

St-Pierre is a UFC Hall of Famer and a part of the class of 2020. The Canadian trailblazer was a multi-divisional champion, held the UFC middleweight championship, and secured two UFC Welterweight titles.

The 42-year-old fighter is considered a legend in the sport due to his record of nine successful defenses. He has the most wins in UFC welterweight title fights [12] and the second-most wins in UFC title fights [13].
