Disney's Raven-Symoné inundated with condolences after brother's sudden death at age 31

Disney Channel alum Raven-Symoné revealed that her younger brother has tragically succumbed to colon cancer at the age of 31.

Raven-Symoné stunned fans on Instagram in the early hours of Monday morning as she thanked them after she was inundated with birthday wishes over the weekend, marking her 38th year. 

The That’s So Raven star tragically revealed that it was a far more bittersweet occasion than her devoted followers knew as it was the first birthday she celebrated without her brother in over three decades. 

Walking around her neighborhood in a cozy grey sweater with large black and gold sunglasses, the actress shared with her fans: “Last month I lost my brother Blaize. 

“He was battling colon cancer for about two years. He is in a better place now.”

The Hollywood star revealed it had been a “rollercoaster” of emotions both within herself and her family after losing her little brother.

Getting choked with emotion, the former The View panellist continued: “I love you Blaize. His birthday is December 16th and forever will be.”

On a tender note, the actress turned to the camera adding: “I love you guys. My family on Instagram, my family at home and my family of friends, you guys have been such an amazing support system and I love you all. 

“Have a wonderful holiday season, I’ll see you in the New Year with some new s**t,” she concluded, teasing some upcoming projects. 

The devastating revelation saw many of her 2.4 million followers flooding the singer’s Instagram comments with support and condolences.

One fan candidly shared: "This was really hard to see and hear. My deepest condolences. This one hurt. Sending love and blessings to you and your family."

A second sweetly added: "I am so sorry. There are no words that can ease this kind of pain, but I hope you can find moments of peace and comfort in the weeks and months ahead. You and your family are in my prayers."

The former Cheetah Girls star also found support from some other Disney alumni as High School Musical star Monique Coleman wrote: “Oh nooo. So sorry to hear this! Sending you so much love."
