At the 2023 VMAs, Diddy not only received the Global Icon Award, but also shared the stage with his children as he gave a performance dedicated to his late girlfriend, Kim Porter.

His children, King, 25, and twins Jessie and D'Lila, aged 16, joined him on stage for an epic performance.
Diddy paid tribute to the late Kim Porter who passed away in 2018 and is the mother to his son, King.
After the performance, Diddy explained to Entertainment Tonight, “Tonight was special, because backstage we was like, ‘we doing to do this one for his mother.”.
“This is the first one we did for his mom. We was thinking about her. This was always a dream of hers that we’d be on stage together like in a big way, in such a global televised event,” Diddy stated while standing next to his son King.
Diddy also received the Global Icon Award.
While accepting the award, he recounted his early dreams of becoming a professional athlete, a dream that took an unexpected turn due to a career-ending injury.
It was in this moment of adversity that he discovered his passion for music, setting him on a path that would lead to global stardom.
“This was a dream come true for me, you just gotta keep dreaming,” he shared.
