After the performance, Diddy explained to Entertainment Tonight, “Tonight was special, because backstage we was like, ‘we doing to do this one for his mother.”.

“This is the first one we did for his mom. We was thinking about her. This was always a dream of hers that we’d be on stage together like in a big way, in such a global televised event,” Diddy stated while standing next to his son King.

Diddy also received the Global Icon Award.

While accepting the award, he recounted his early dreams of becoming a professional athlete, a dream that took an unexpected turn due to a career-ending injury.

It was in this moment of adversity that he discovered his passion for music, setting him on a path that would lead to global stardom.

“This was a dream come true for me, you just gotta keep dreaming,” he shared.



Diddy expressed his gratitude to his fans for celebrating him and recognized God as his "secret weapon" throughout his journey.

He emphasized the importance of dreams and the profound joy of sharing music with his audience.

“I thank God for this choice that he made for me to be able to touch you with my music, give you a good time, make you dance, make you feel good,” Diddy said.

In addition to accepting the award and sharing the stage with his son, Diddy also performed with his twin daughters during his medley of greatest hits.

His performance was a nostalgic trip through his long musical career, and his twin daughters joined him for a viral TikTok dance to "I'll Be Missing You."
