Friends star Matthew Perry dies aged 54

David Schwimmer was seen at his New York City apartment with his family on Sunday, a day after the shocking death of his co-star .

He spent much of the day lying low at his home but stepped out with his ex-wife Zoë Buckman and managed to flash a peace sign before opening the door after receiving a takeout order of Chinese food and some bubble tea from Xing Fu Tang.

Later, he was seen heading out with Buckman and his two children. Schwimmer wore a white facemask while out with his family and a black mask while answering the door to his home.

Along with the mask, he looked low-key in a baseball cap but acknowledged those gathered outside.

The 56-year-old, who was Perry's long-time co-star on the hit sitcom, appeared downcast. None of the Friends cast have broken their silence on Perry's death.

Earlier on Sunday, Perry's remains were seen leaving his LA home, where he was found unresponsive in his hot tub.

A source close to Perry's other Friends co-star Lisa Kudrow claimed that concerns about medication have crossed their minds.

"While no one wants to jump to conclusions, the possibility of medication, whether prescribed or not, cannot be ruled out," the source said to DailyMail.com.

"There is a belief that he might have taken something that did not mix well with the warm water in his hot tub."

Perry had been candid about his struggles with addiction to alcohol and opiates, but he recently claimed to be clean.

Kudrow, who portrayed Phoebe opposite Swimmer's Ross Geller and Perry's Chandler Bing, allegedly expressed her disbelief at Perry's passing, assured that the Friends cast would attend his funeral, and she might even adopt his dog.

Meanwhile, the show's co-creators/executive producers Marta Kauffman and David Crane and the series’ executive producer/director Kevin Bright are the latest to release a touching statement about Perry.

They said: "We are shocked and deeply, deeply saddened by our beloved friend Matthew’s passing. It still seems impossible. All we can say is that we feel blessed to have had him as part of our lives.

"He was a brilliant talent. It’s a cliche to say that an actor makes a role their own, but in Matthew’s case, there are no truer words. From the day we first heard him embody the role of Chandler Bing, there was no one else for us.

They ended their tribute with a somber take on Friends’ famous episode titles: “This truly is The One Where Our Hearts Are Broken.”

Perry’s family has also officially released a statement following his tragic passing.

They shared how devastated they are by his death, and thanked fans for the outpouring of love and support.

Perry died from an apparent drowning incident in a hot tub at his home, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Authorities were called to the scene for reports of a person suffering from cardiac arrest.

Perry had reportedly played a two-hour game of Pickleball earlier in the day, before sending his assistant out on an errand.

The assistant returned to an unresponsive Perry in his hot tub.

Medics attempted a "water rescue" but efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.

He was pronounced dead at the scene without being taken to hospital.

It’s currently unclear what led to Perry’s sudden death, but law enforcement have said that no drugs were found in his home and no foul play is suspected.

Since his death, tributes have poured in from many who knew him.
