Country singer Toby Keith has many great things to celebrate right now.

Along with receiving the Country Icon Award at the People's Choice Country Awards on Sept. 28, the performer said he's feeling good in a health update.

Keith was diagnosed with stomach in 2021, and has been battling it ever since.

He told E! News: "I feel pretty good. It's a little bit of a roller coaster. You get good days and, you know, you're up and down, up and down. It's always zero to 60 and 60 to zero but I feel good today."

In June, the singer said that his tumor had shrunk by a third of the size.

"I'm working my way back into performing shape," he said earlier on the People's Choice Country Awards' red carpet.

When Keith announced his cancer diagnosis in June of 2022, he said he had been receiving radiation, chemotherapy and surgery for six months.

"I am looking forward to spending this time with my family. But I will see the fans sooner than later," he said via Instagram. "I can’t wait."

It didn't take long for his to get back to his fans by way of appearing at several events.

In November of 2022, Keith was awarded the 2022 BMI Icon Award at the BMI Country Awards.

In June, he hosted a live auction as part of the 19th annual Toby Keith & Friends Golf Classic weekend.

The singer's two-day hometown charity event raises funds for the Toby Keith Foundation's OK Kids Korral, a free lodging service for children and their families who are seeking cancer treatment in Oklahoma City.

"I'm feeling pretty good. ... I'm about another eight weeks from my last scan. So, I expect next time I look for that tumor to be even less — and I've only got one that's shown up," he told The Oklahoman in June.

Keith released his debut album in 1993 and is famous for tunes like Red Solo Cup and I Wanna Talk About Me.

The 62-year-old received the Country Icon Award at the People’s Choice Country Awards on Thursday night.

“Bet you thought you’d never see me in skinny jeans,” he joked when he took the stage to accept the award. “I want to thank the almighty for allowing me to be here tonight. You’ve been riding shotgun with me for a little while.”

He then performed Don’t Let the Old Man In.

"It's nice to recognize my 30-year career," Keith shared. "It's pretty mind-boggling."

Keith is most proud of his songwriting, explaining: "Those years of pounding those songs out there and remembering where you were when each one was conceived and all that, it's amazing."

His latest album, Songwriter, is a collection of 13 originally written hits from his career and will be available November 3.
