In the video, the child's journey is observed from different angles, seemingly unaware of the potential danger until workers came to his rescue.

Following the video's release, airport authorities, in a statement to La Tercera, a Chilean newspaper, assured that their facilities comply with international safety standards.

The airport wrote: "We are gathering all the information to determine how this situation occurred and reinforce security measures and protocols with airline operators to prevent a recurrence. This goes beyond the responsibility of parents or guardians, who should be vigilant with their children."

At the time of the incident, the child was alone on the conveyor belt, with no adults in sight, initiating his unintended journey into the airport's interior.

Upon spotting the child on security cameras, the airport immediately activated its safety protocol, and two workers successfully rescued the toddler, who emerged unharmed.

The airport clarified: "Our infrastructure adheres to all international safety standards, and we have camera technology and devices capable of detecting anomalous situations to prevent incidents...It is the responsibility of personnel hired by the airlines for these purposes."

The airport also announced the implementation of a protocol to reinforce security measures in these areas, emphasizing the shared responsibility of parents and caregivers for the children under their care.

On Twitter, many netizens questioned the suitability of the child's parents to look after their son, with some calling them "negligent."
