TikTok users @Emma.and.mike tried their first breakfast - and it seems they were less than impressed with the offering.

Posting a video of their first foray into US fast food breakfast, the couple weren't happy with how it compared to the UK version.

The video shows the pair sitting in a car brandishing their food, both seeming excited to try their first American fast food staple.

Emma tried a sausage and egg McMuffin, one of McDonald's most popular breakfast items in the UK.

But from the start she was unhappy, with Emma saying there was no option for a double with two sausage patties.

Emma said: "There wasn't a double option so that's already a loser."

She said the meal looked "pretty similar" to the UK version, but noted the colour was slightly different.

"Review from the first bite: the muffin texture [is] different, like softer.

"The sausage has a bit more flavour to it, but not as juicy. And the cheese is kind of the same."

Emma didn't rate the American version as highly as she would rate the British McMuffin, saying it was "not as good as ours" but admitted it was "still okay".

She goes on to try the hash brown, another McDonald's breakfast staple, saying it tastes the same, but did admit it is "crunchier on the outside."

But Emma said her "biggest disappointment" with an American McDonalds is that it comes with sachets of ketchup instead of pots.

She said the change was "unacceptable".
