is facing financial “disaster” following her epic legal battle against her father, according to friends.

They claim the troubled pop star has spent a “huge chunk” of her $60 million personal fortune on attorneys’ fees to end his 13 year conservatorship order and regain control of her own affairs.

At the same time, Britney – who was celebrating her 42nd birthday today – is bracing for further court showdowns with two of her three ex-husbands over spousal and child support payments in the coming year.

One close friend and former business associate said: "On top of all her legal bills, her own spending on private jets, exotic gifts and a lavish lifestyle have continued unabated.

"She’s blown a huge chunk of her fortune and – if she can’t find a way to reign-in her spending – could find herself facing disaster."

Millions of fans who backed her bitter battle with her father Jamie Spears, 71, in a worldwide “Free Britney” campaign, were shocked once more last week when the Oops, I Did It Again singer posted another bizarre video on Instagram.

It showed her topless and pulling a series of wild-eyed faces while puckering her lips like a fish, clenching her teeth and twice saying “Good morning” in an eerie, childlike voice.

This follows another disturbing post in September that sent social workers racing to her gated, 21 acre estate in the leafy LA enclave of Thousand Oaks to make an emergency welfare check. They left after she showed them that fearsome-looking knives she had been brandishing in an online clip were, in fact, fakes bought from a movie prop shop.

Later, the Toxic star posted a message to fans assuring them the blades were not real but worryingly added: “I’ve been bullied in my home for so long now…..IT’S ENOUGH.”

A string of public meltdowns, including shaving her head completely bald, led to her father winning his conservatorship order back in January 2008 after Britney was admitted to a hospital psychiatric unit and deemed unfit to handle her own finances.

A second friend said: “She’s come so far since then it would be tragic to see history repeating itself. But she’s clearly in a very fragile state as she takes a financial battering from all sides as well as recovering from her latest marriage disaster.”

Britney and her third husband – former personal fitness trainer Sam Asghari, 29 – split in September, barely fifteen months after their wedding, and he is reportedly seeking spousal support as well as her paying his legal fees despite both having signed a supposedly ironclad prenuptial agreement.

Meanwhile, her second husband Kevin Federline, 45, has filed legal papers at LA Superior Court seeking an increase in child support payments for their two sons – Sean Preston, 18, and Jayden James, 17 – from $40,000 a month to $60,000. Federline is raising the teenagers in Hawaii with his second wife, former pro volleyball player Victoria Prince.

Despite her current torment and past feuds with family members, Britney is said to be drawing on emotional support from her sister Jamie Lynn, 32, with whom she has reconciled but who was last week forced to withdraw from the British version of TV reality show I’m a Celebrity….Get Me Out of Here! on “medical grounds.”
