The proximity of the airport to the stadium can play a big part in that decision.

Fans want to be as close as they can be. We look at the top five airports that are conveniently located for sports fans in the US.

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, Phoenix, Arizona 

Phoenix Sky Harbor is nearby to both the Footprint Centre and Chase Field.

Fenway Park

Footprint is NBA’s Phoenix Sun’s home ground is just over four miles from the airport.

Chase Field, nearby to the Footprint Center is just nine minutes from the airport by can and is home to The Arizona Diamondbacks of the MLB.

Boston Logan International Airport, Boston, Massachusetts

Only 15 minutes away from Fenway Park, it’s ideal for fans.  Fenway, is the home of the Boston Red Sox and is the oldest baseball stadium in the US.

Las Vegas Airport

Harry Reid International Airport, Las Vegas, Nevada 

This is one of the most scenic airports to land in in Las Vegas and it’s just a ten minute taxi ride from Allegiant Stadium. 

It’s home to the Las Vegas Raiders of the NFL and where they play their season home games. 

Kentucky Derby

It is slated to host the Super Bowl on February 11, 2024. Las Vegas will also host the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix on November 19, 2023.

The race will be held close to the airport with the paddock area a mere four minute drive away.

Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport, Louisville, Kentucky

Being named after one of the greatest boxers, Muhammad Ali, Kentucky is also home to America’s Kentucky Derby horse race at Churchill Downs.

It’s only a ten-minute drive to the track from the airport and fans do fly in and out in a day to attend this classic event. 

Daytona Beach International Airport, Daytona Beach, Florida

The airport is located directly next to the Daytona International Speedway. The Daytona 500 is the most prestigious NASCAR race.
