Customers of Bank of America are being warned over the latest round of pending branch closures.

The nation’s second-biggest bank is set to close 15 more sites later this month as it moves operations online.

Bank of America has over an estimated $2.5trillion in assets but that is not stopping the institution from closing branches in six states, according to AS USA.

All banks are federally mandated to report any closures to the Office of the Comptroller of Currency at least 90 days before they take place.

According to Bank of America executives, physical locations remain an important part of the banking giant’s brand.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic, the rate at which banks have closed down sites has been greatly sped up.

This is primarily due to changes in customer preferences with more Americans opting to manage their money online or via apps.

Branches in the following states will be affected by Bank of America’s latest round of closures: California, Michigan, Massachusetts, Virginia, Maryland and Washington.

California will see the most locations shut down at six, while Michigan and Massachusetts will have three and two sites close, respectively.
