Americans' confidence in Joe Biden hits lowest-ever point of his presidency

Joe Biden's favorability among American voters has exponentially plunged since his first month in the White House nearly three years ago.

A shocking new survey has shown confidence in the US Presidency has hit the lowest point ever as Americans turn away from the Biden Administration.

The annual Reagan National Defense Survey found only 36 percent of respondents had either "a great deal" or "some" confidence in the presidency.

A 47 percent majority said they had "not much at all" while 17 percent said they had "a little."

The survey polled 2,506 US voters between October 27 and November 5.

The latest findings continued the downward trend seen since the poll was first taken under Joe Biden's predecessor Donald Trump.

In November 2018, 44 percent of respondents said they had a "great deal" of confidence while the rate of those not much confident in the presidency has remained consistent since.

And the bad news for Biden continued as the survey found 59 percent of those polled had an unfavorable view of the president. Trump scored lower at 57 percent.

Biden's support has fallen sharply since his inauguration in January 2021, when his popularity stood at 53 percent.

He is now bracing for a potential repeat of his 2020 face-off with Donald Trump as he remains the leading candidate for the Republican nomination ahead of the 2024 presidential election.

The Reagan National Defense Survey found 63 percent of likely GOP voters would throw their support behind the former president if he were the nominee, with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis trailing behind at 10 percent.

Biden has been taking an increasingly confrontational stance toward Republicans in recent weeks.

During a White House event focused on supply chains on Monday, he unleashed a broad critique.

He said: "They want to go back to the bad old days, when corporations looked around the world to find the cheapest labor they could find, to send the jobs overseas, and then import the products back to the United States."

Biden also said Republicans want to cut Social Security and Medicare, benefits that are crucial for many elderly Americans.

“They just don’t give up," he said. "But guess what: We won’t let these things happen.”
