Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has joined actors and writers on strike to take shots at Hollywood studio bosses.

She specifically called out Warner Bros Discovery CEO David Zaslav in a passionate speech on the picket line.

The US rep joined strikers outside the Manhattan offices of Netflix and Warner Bros on Monday and delivered a rousing speech to the crowd.

“Frankly, while this is a fight against AI, more than AI, this is a fight against greed,” she said.

Both actors and writers are demanding safeguards against AI but are also fighting for fairer pay, including residuals from streaming services.

She continued: “This is a fight against Wall Street, and this is a fight against the endless pursuit of more wealth.

“How many private jets does David Zaslav need? For real. How many private jets do these CEOs need?”

The liberal congresswoman’s words were met with huge cheers from the surrounding crowd.

“It is insatiable,” she went on. “It is unacceptable.

“I do not know how any person can say ‘I need another $100 million before another person can have healthcare’.

“Who does that? What level are we at right now? The only way we can buzz this up is by giving the people in charge a reality check.”

Ocasio-Cortez was joined by AFL-CIO president Liz Shuler and reportedly spent 40 minutes walking the picket line, according to Deadline.

One of the most high-profile government officials to join the strike so far, she was seen with around 200 other marchers and paused for handshakes and photos.

Speaking to Deadline, she said: “The most important actors here are workers, so it shouldn’t be about Congress acting on its own.

“It should be us acting on behalf of our constituents. If SAG-AFTRA, WGA calls on Congress, then I think that’s something that we should absolutely consider.

“But until then we’ve got to get out of their way and let the workers do their thing.”

The strike will continue to cause disruption in Hollywood until a deal is struck with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.
